Gary Johnson is a longtime racehorse owner and industry leader with extensive experience in racing governance and stakeholder relations. He has served multiple elected terms on the HBPA-BC Board and as Chair of Teletheatre BC, bringing deep knowledge of the racing industry and strong relationships across the community.
Gary also brings significant leadership experience from a decades-long career in labour relations, collective bargaining, and organizational governance, including serving as President of CUPE Local 454 and as a trustee on the CUPE Joint Board of Trustees.
Through the PTRA, Gary applies his governance expertise and industry relationships to help build the stable, accountable foundation that BC thoroughbred racing needs to move forward with confidence.
